front desk staff positions

Job Description 

We are looking for front of house staff who will be responsible for greeting clients and visitors to ATK Arena Cape Town. You will also be required to respond to general queries by phone, Whatsapp and email address, taking messages, and capturing receipts.

To be successful in this role, you will need good written and verbal communication skills, a solid understanding of Social Media etiquette, as well as competency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Handling money and card transactions and monitoring the flow of guests to the venue. The successful candidates would all require Matric as a minimum with one year of post-matric study as a benefit in their application.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers and visitors with a positive, and inviting attitude

  • Take payments at the door from customers

  • A variety of administrative tasks including copying, email, taking notes and arranging collections and deliveries, preparing forms, filing forms and month-end paperwork

  • Performing ad-hoc administrative duties

  • Answering, forwarding, and screening phone calls

  • Provide excellent customer service

  • Scheduling appointments/reservations

Requirements:
  • Prior experience in retail environment or customer service

  • Consistent, professional dress and manner

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Docs, Google Mail

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Experience with administrative and clerical procedures

  • Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required

  3. Time management and planning skills come naturally to you as you methodically prioritise tasks, multitask and manage time

  4. You are a natural organiser, who plans ahead so that simple repetitive tasks can be completed effortlessly, allowing more time to deal with complex tasks which can be given more attention

  5. You are able to follow existing processes, and in the absence of working processes, you take the initiative to develop one.

  6. You are a dependable employee who is consistently able to offer the same professional response to customers and clients

  7. Your interpersonal skills put customer service and the company reputation ahead of personal issues

  9. Own transport would be ideal
